For me, the second chance means make something
better and better than before, not do the same mistakes in it. The second
chance doesn’t mean anything if I learned nothing from the first
one.
I think, three words that can reflect about the
second chance are; mistake, opportunity and be thankful. Let me explain to you.
Mistake.
Everybody
does mistake. Even nobody’s perfect is the quotes
that frequently we hear to show how we often as human do the mistakes. Second
chance never appears without mistake. Even Albert Einstein said this. Anyone who has never made a
mistake has never tried anything new. Mistakes are a part of being human.
Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only
be learned the hard way. Unless it’s a fatal mistake at least others can learn
from. We
need to learn from our mistakes so that we do not run the risk of repeating
them. We must develop the wisdom and sense to make good decisions and choices.
Good judgment will only develop if you truly learn from your mistakes.
Unfortunately, for many people, it takes a few repeats of the same mistake to
learn the lesson. Good or bad, experiences are what help us learn lessons and
form a better sense of judgment. Bad judgment seems to stick with us longer as
a lesson learned because we really do not want to keep repeating it. Wisdom is
the knowledge you can gain from making mistakes.
Opportunity.
English meaning of second
chance is opportunity to try something again. When you "get the opportunity" to do something,
it means that you are allowed to do something that you think is good. An
"opportunity" is usually something that you want to do to improve
yourself, like something related to work, or to an activity that you like doing
such as sports or music. Yes, we need that opportunity to do the second
chance.
And last, why is thankful?
Sometimes I don’t think that something is precious
until I lost it. I’ve ever lost something then I realized that it is precious
to me. I hope I have a second chance to make it back. Well, I got it. I’m very
happy. Having a second chance makes I want to work even
harder. I will keep that thing because I don’t lose it again for the second
time. Yes, I am thankful that I had a second chance.
Well, this topic I choose because I have my own
experience about the second chance. It is one of histories of my life. It is my
work, my career. I decided resign at Toyota Astra Motor in 1998 for one reason
but I couldn’t tell you here what the reason is. Hehehe. That decision
surprises some people. Why I resigned for that huge company then I applied to
Plaza Toyota. Maybe some people think that working at TAM is very prestigious
and it was ridiculous to resign from there and move to indirect dealer at that
time. But that my decision. Well, on this occasion I want to say thanks to Mr.
Parman and Mr. Jumhan, who believed and
finally accepted me in Plaza Toyota. I think work at Plaza Toyota is my second
chance. That’s why I want to proof that I really appreciate that opportunity
and be thankful that I am here, at Plaza Toyota.
I think everything deserve to have a second chance.
Even it is our life. How so? Yes that we can not turn back the time being a
baby, child, adult but we have a generation that we call children. Giving them
the best that we can, direct them to be the best with what they want so we can
do our second chance through our children. For example, I really want to study
at ITB but I didn’t have opportunity to do that. I wish my son will.
Maybe not me who study in ITB but my generation does. But again, I will not
push my son to do that if he doesn’t want it. Because I remember this quote
from beautiful poem from Kahlil Gibran about our children; you may
give them your love but not your thoughts, because they have their own thoughts.
Well, Hopefully. All people here including me, if
we have the opportunity for having second chance, we never waste it so we can
not regret. The most important life lessons we will ever learn will be from the
bad decisions we make. Time and experience can be excellent teachers when you
actually learn a lesson from your poor decisions.
I
ever read this maybe can reflect more clear about the second chance;
Life is
too short to wake up with regrets.
Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don’t.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy.
They just promised it would be worth it.
Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don’t.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy.
They just promised it would be worth it.
